While there are plenty of new shark movies vying for the eyes of viewers every year, Prime Video’s upcoming survival thriller offers a unique, fresh take on the genre that started with Jaws. Ever since Steven Spielberg’s Jaws scared viewers out of the water in 1975, shark movies have been an entire survival horror subgenre unto themselves. There are no-budget sleeper hits, like 2003’s found-footage effort Open Water.
