After Maggie and Ginny left to participate in New Babylon's Manhattan mission, Hershel stayed behind in the Bricks, much to his dismay. Although episode 1's ending showed his frustrations about being left behind, it seemed like he was willing to listen to his mother; however, around 10 or so minutes into "Another Shitty Lesson", Hershel showed up and disrupted the New York mission, claiming he was worried about Maggie's well-being.
