Travis Kelce talks about Taylor Swift’s guitar incident
Travis Kelce is setting the record straight after his comment about a Taylor Swift-signed guitar made headlines. Days after joking onstage that he was bidding on a Taylor Swift-signed guitar he already owned, the NFL star clarified the situation on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast.
During the episode, Jason played the now-viral X video for listeners, showing Travis holding up his auction paddle before quickly lowering it and sitting back down. Jason said, “There’s this clip of you helping a good cause by running up an auction price for a signed guitar.” However, Travis immediately pushed back on that idea. He said, “No, I put my paddle up because I wanted it and then I realized, ‘Oh, I already have it. Oh, that was the guitar I have.’”
Jason was not entirely convinced by his brother’s explanation and asked, “You realized it afterwards?” The Kansas City Chiefs tight end explained that he had to look closely at the item before recognizing it. He joked, “You don’t want to buy the same guitar twice.” This prompted laughter from Jason, who replied, “Well done.”
Travis Kelce also spoke highly of the event, hosted by Patrick Mahomes in Las Vegas. Calling it “a f**king blast,” the NFL star praised how the event continues to raise more money every year for Kansas City. Though Taylor Swift attended the fundraiser last year, she skipped this year’s event.
