Paramount Pictures has revealed a brand new Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning video for the highly-anticipated next chapter to the blockbuster spy film franchise. The latest sequel will be having its world premiere at the upcoming 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 14, followed by its theatrical release on May 23.

“Our lives are the sum of our choices. Tom Cruise is Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” teases the brief synopsis.

The video provides fans with a glimpse of one of movie’s most difficult stunt sequences for Mission: Impossible 8. It highlights the meticulous preparation that Tom Cruise had went through for the production of his underwater stunts.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Jendresen. Joining Cruise are Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Tramell Tillman, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Rolf Saxon, Lucy Tulugarjuk, and Angela Bassett. The sequel will also feature Mariela Garriga, Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Charles Parnell, and Mark Gatiss.

The film is produced by McQuarrie and Cruise, with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Chris Brock as executive producers. It is a production by Paramount Pictures and Skydance. At the moment, it’s still unclear if The Final Reckoning will be the franchise’s last installment or not. During Dead Reckoning’s theatrical run, the film wasn’t able to live up to the box office expectations due to tough competition with Barbie and Oppenheimer. It only garnered a worldwide gross of over $570 million against a reported budget of around $291 million.
