Billie Eilish and Green Day teamed up for a live rendition of ‘Last Night On Earth’ for the LA FireAid benefit concert last night (January 30).

With the words “Los Angeles” appearing in massive block letters behind the band, Armstrong placed special emphasis on the song’s poignant chorus: “If I lose everything in the fire / I’m sending all my love to you.” You can watch the performance below.
The band kicked off proceedings at the concert by performing ‘Still Breathing’ from their 2016 album ‘Revolution Radio’ before closing the set with ‘Dookie’ single ‘When I Come Around’. In the middle of the band’s set, Armstrong declared: “Los Angeles, we’ve got your back no matter what.”
Later, Eilish headed over to the Intuit Dome for a performance of her own at the second of FireAid’s two shows, playing ‘Wildflower’, ‘The Greatest’ and ‘Birds Of A Feather with her brother Finneas.
The event was first announced earlier this month in support of the victims of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
Armstrong and Eilish previously interviewed each other in a special edition of Rolling Stone magazine.
“I know this sounds [weird], but I always gravitate toward music that sounds like freedom. And that’s what I get from your music. It’s like an earnest person that’s expressing themselves and incorporating new sounds. Some of it sounds like jazz to me, if that’s cool to say?,” Armstrong told her at the time.
Eilish said that ‘Dookie’ was one of her favourite albums and in a later interview with NME, Armstrong said at the time: “Her brother Finneas came to one of our shows and Tre gave him a pair of sticks when he was, like, 12 years old. Even Ed Sheeran saw us play Wembley Arena, heard ‘Time Of Your Life’ and was inspired by that. That’s cool to us because that’s the way we feel about the people that we admire, our favourite musicians and bands. It’s just a trip. Time is crazy.”
Elsewhere, the surviving members of Nirvana – Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear made a surprise appearance at the Kia Forum.
The trio performed Nirvana cuts ‘Breed’ with St. Vincent on vocals, ‘School’ with Kim Gordon and ‘Territorial Pissings’ with Joan Jett while Grohl’s daughter Violet took the mic for ‘All Apologies’.
Other artists who performed on the night included Lady Gaga, Rod Stewart, Katy Perry, Joni Mitchell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sting, Stevie Nicks, Gracie Abrams and Green Day, No Doubt, Olivia Rodrigo and Peso Pluma.
Earlier in the evening, actor Billy Crystal welcomed the crowd at the venue, wearing the clothes he had on when he escaped the Pacific Palisades fire earlier this month. He had lived in the area for 46 years and spoke poignantly about losing his home.
Crystal also revealed that U2 contributed $1m (£804,829). All proceeds will go to those affected by the devastating wildfires.
Some 29 people died in the fires, with thousands more homes and businesses destroyed.
Many musicians stepped up to help out the affected communities in the aftermath of the fires. Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD foundation donated $2.5million to help to relief efforts. Paris Hilton also launched a fund for families displaced by the fires, pledging $100,000 and promised to match up to $100,000 in donations. Dave Grohl also spent his birthday making meals for families that had been effected.
