Tim Robinson Investigates a Wild Conspiracy in HBO’s The Chair Company Trailer

The trailer for Tim Robinson and HBO’s The Chair Company has been released.

The Chair Company is a new comedy show created by Robinson and Zach Kanin. Premiering on HBO Max next month, it sees Robinson play a character named William Ronald Trosper.

What happens in The Chair Company trailer?

In The Chair Company trailer, Robinson investigates a “massive problem” that he believes could cause “mass casualties.” Things quickly go off the rails as the investigation takes various twists and turns he could have never predicted.

The cast of The Chair Company also includes Lake Bell as Barb Trosper, Sophia Lillis as Natalie Trosper, Will Price as Seth Trosper, Joseph Tudisco as Mike Santini, and Lou Diamond Phillips as Jeff Levjman.  

Robinson and Kanin both serve as executive producers on The Chair Company alongside Adam McKay and Todd Schulman for HyperObject Industries, Andrew DeYoung, and Igor Srubshchik. Andrew DeYoung and Aaron Schimberg serve as directors.

The official logline reads, “After an embarrassing incident at work, a man (Robinson) finds himself investigating a far-reaching conspiracy.”

Robinson and Kanin are best known for creating the Netflix sketch comedy show I Think You Should Leave. They also co-created the Comedy Central show Detroiters with Sam Richardson and Joe Kelly.

Robinson recently starred in the A24 movie Friendship alongside Paul Rudd. His filmography also includes 2016’s Brother Nature and 2020’s An American Pickle, while he had vocal roles in 2022’s Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers, 2022’s Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm, and 2023’s Scream VI. Additionally, he’s attached to voice a character in The Angry Birds Movie 3, which does not yet have a release date.

The Chair Company will premiere on HBO Max at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday, October 12, 2028. New episodes of the eight-episode season will continue to drop on Sundays before the finale arrives on November 30.
