Sneaks Trailer: Anthony Mackie, Martin Lawrence, & More Star in Family Movie

The first trailer for Sneaks, a new animated family movie about shoes, has been released.

Distributed by Briarcliff Entertainment, Sneaks will be released in United States theaters this coming April. The voice cast of the PG-rated animated movie includes Captain America: Brave New World’s Anthony Mackie, Bad Boys for Life’s Martin Lawrence, and more.

What happens in the Sneaks trailer?

“Sneaks follows the adventures of Ty, a misguided designer sneaker who doesn’t know life outside the comforts of his velvet-lined shoe box,” the official synopsis reads. After his sister is stolen by a shady collector, Ty must venture into NYC to find and rescue her. In his adventure, Ty meets a rag-tag group of footwear friends from all walks of life who help him find the courage to step outside of his shoe box and find his ‘sole-mate.'”

Along with Mackie and Lawrence, the voice cast of Sneaks includes Swae Lee, Chloe Bailey, Macy Gray, Roddy Rich, Ella Mai, Quavo, Coi Leray, Keith David, Chris Paul, and Laurence Fishburne.

The film is written and directed by Rob Edwards, who also worked on the screenplay for Captain America: Brave New World. Additionally, Edwards was a writer on 2002’s Treasure Planet and 2009’s The Princess and the Frog.

 Sneaks will be Edwards’ feature film directorial debut. It was originally going to be directed by Pixar veteran Teddy Newton; however, Newton dropped out of the project, and Edwards replaced him in June 2021.

Fishburne, Len Hartman, Gil Cloyd, and Helen Sugland produce the film, while Robyn Klein, Jeremy Ross, and Meko Yohannes serve as executive producers. The movie features brand-new music from Grammy winner Mustard.

Sneaks will be released in United States theaters on April 18, 2025, from Briarcliff Entertainment.
