Obligatory 25th anniversary opus

December 20th marks ny 25th anniversary of joining FR. When I joined I was a career cop in My early thirties. I was freshly married and optimistic. I am now divorced, retired and disabled. Through all the crap that's gone on these 25 years I can honestly say that my optimism is somewhat diminished . But not entirely extinguished. I still believe we can make a difference in the here and now. But added to that, I've come to understand that it's also preparing for a much longer future when we leave this world.
