The brand-new track was dropped on April 28 alongside an accompanying music video, marking their first music since they made their debut last year. ‘Hands Up’ was unveiled as a pre-release single for their upcoming mini-album titled ‘My Eyes Open VVIDE’, due out in full on May 12.

The song’s music video follows the five members of MEOVV as they train to play alkkagi, a traditional Korean board game. Towards the end, they face off against the “alkkagi god”, who turns out to be a little boy.

Hands up / Crack the sky open, put your hands up / Break the sky, let the water fall / Hands up high, even if you get no answers / Throw it up what you wanna do?” MEOVV chant on the fierce new song.

‘Hands Up’ was produced by The Black Label founder and frequent BLACKPINK collaborator Teddy Park. MEOVV, which comprises members Sooin, Gawon, Anna, Narin and Ella, debuted in September last year with their first digital single ‘Meow’ under The Black Label. The agency currently houses artists like Big Bang’s Taeyang, Somi and BLACKPINK vocalist Rosé.

In other K-pop news, EXO vocalist Baekhyun recently announced the release of his upcoming fifth mini-album titled ‘Essence of Reverie’, due out on May 19. It will mark his second body of work as a soloist under his self-established label, INB100. Baekhyun’s last mini-album was the 2024 project ‘Hello, World’, which was led by title track ‘Pineapple Slice’.
