Charting the course of Jesus’ rise to the religious figure that we now know him to be, Dallas Jenkins’ The Chosen has taken on the monumental task of turning the words of the Bible into a neat and tidy television series. The Prime Video production has been a smash hit for the streamer, and, with five seasons now in the books, audiences are wondering when Season 6 will grace their screens. Unfortunately, there’s some bad news on that front because, even though it’s filming, it will be a long time before The Chosen makes it to a screen near you. Using his Sunday morning to address fans at The Chosen Insiders Conference, Jenkins explained the hold-up, which essentially comes down to the broad and intense subject matter as well as the crew’s exhaustion levels.
