Taylor Sheridan has wasted no time expanding the Yellowstone universe this year with new releases like Marshals and Dutton Ranch, but only one of the offshoots has been loved by fans while the other has been mostly maligned. Fans have criticized Marshals, which holds poor scores of 48% from critics and 27% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, for abandoning the traditional Yellowstone feel, but this was to be expected, considering it’s the first Sheridan-produced series to air on CBS and not straight to Paramount Plus. Meanwhile, things couldn’t have gone better for Dutton Ranch, which just picked up a Season 2 renewal while it continues to dominate streaming. Sheridan is also bringing back the third season of his hit spy thriller, Lioness, this August, but another of his most popular shows was recently hit with a devastating delay.
