Jonathan Majors has reportedly been meeting about starring in a potential superhero project following the actor being fired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What did Jonathan Majors say about a new superhero movie?

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in a recent profile on the actor, Majors’ spoke about his current state of mind following his legal issues and lack of work in Hollywood as a result. Majors noted that he has still been reading scripts and taking meetings, and even met with a studio about a smaller sized superhero film project.

“No relation to the big guys, DC or Marvel, but a pretty wicked story,” said Majors. “I’m glad to be reading.” Majors also noted that, when it comes to potentially returning to the world of acting, it “sometimes it feels like it’s not going to happen,” he says of the resumption of his acting career. “And sometimes it feels like we start next week.”

Majors’ next movie, Magazine Dreams, is set to release on March 21, 2025. The film was once reported to be an award season contender in 2023, but following Majors’ arrest and legal issues, was removed from its original release schedule.

In 2023, Majors was convicted of three counts of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. These stem from an incident in 2023 in which Majors struck then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari “about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear.” Additionally, he allegedly grabbed her hand and neck, “causing bruising and substantial pain.”

As a result of his conviction, Majors was sentenced to having to take part in 52 weeks of a domestic violence intervention program and probation.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter as part of a story on Majors, Michael B. Jordan — who has starred in all of the Creed films and directed the last installment — said that he would “love” to make a fourth Creed with Majors, noting that to him, Majors has done all the legal things necessary to move on and grow.

“He was arrested. He went to court. He did what he was supposed to do. I’m not sure what else there is,” said Jordan. “I would love to make Creed IV together — among other projects, I’ve known and know him as someone who is continuously striving to improve as a human, a man and an actor. I believe in him.”
