Alia Bhatt Gives Befitting Reply To Student Asking Her To Name The President Of India

Alia Bhatt, currently busy promoting her upcoming film Alpha, recently turned a potentially tricky fan interaction into a moment of grace and humour. During an event in Jaipur, a member of the audience decided to put her on the spot by asking her, “President of India?”

The question was a reference to a past moment from Koffee With Karan that had previously gone viral, where Alia gave an incorrect answer on being asked the name of the President of India. However, Alia, clearly expecting the playful jab, was quick to respond with poise and confidence.

She immediately addressed the audience, saying, “"Haven't you seen Latent?" (referring to Samay Raina's India's Got Latent Season 2, where Alia was a guest on the first episode) Following this, Alia said she already knew the answer and that she would be happy to do it again to get the audience's claps. She then gracefully said Droupadi Murmu's name, prompting cheers and applause from the crowd.

Recently, on Samay Raina’s show, the comedian teased Alia about the incident. When Alia paused to answer a question about her favourite state, Samay quipped, "State poocha hai, President nahi" (I asked for your favourite state, not the President).

During that same appearance on India's Got Latent, Samay jokingly questioned if she actually knew who the President was. Alia quickly answered, "Droupadi Murmu." She further added a humorous touch, mentioning that President Murmu had handed her a National Award, and then jokingly asked Samay to request the President to help drop a legal case against him.

Alpha is set to release in theatres on July 3. The film faced a long journey to the big screen, having been originally scheduled for release on December 25 last year, then shifted to April. A YRF spokesperson had previously stated in November that the delay was due to VFX work, saying, "Alpha is an extremely special film for us and we want to present it in its most cinematic form. We have realised that the VFX will take a little longer than initially assumed. We want to leave no stone unturned to make Alpha a theatrical experience for everyone to cherish."

Starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, Alpha is the seventh film in the spy franchise and is directed by Shiv Rawail.
