The Final Destination Bloodlines opening weekend sees it on track to break a major box office record for the franchise. The new movie is the sixth installment in the supernatural slasher series, which follows various groups of people avoiding massive calamities because of premonitions, only for Death itself to feel cheated and hunt them down one by one, causing them to die in a variety of outlandish and violent ways. The original installment, which starred Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Seann William Scott, Kerr Smith, and Tony Todd, debuted in 2000 and grossed $112.9 million against its reported $23 million budget.
