A look back at the famous men Nicole Kidman has dated: Whispers about a new romance with Scarpetta co-star

Rumours have started to swirl that Nicole Kidman has a new man in her life. 

The 58-year-old actress was recently seen hand-in-hand with fellow Australian Scarpetta co-star, with speculation growing that it's more than a friendship.

Simon Baker and Kidman were snapped at a screening for their new series, smiling together with their hands tightly interlocked.

The pair have been noticed lately for their undeniable chemistry off screen at events, with a source telling The Sun, "at the after-party they stayed close all night and were deep in conversation."

Kidman touched on her relationship with Baker after sharing kisses with him on screen and said "We've kissed on the cheek before. 

"We've hugged a lot."

Mentioning his ex, she described her as "the woman [Rebecca Rigg] I grew up with, he was married to for a substantial part of his life . . . 29 years." 

Kidman has been good friends with Rigg over the years, and is the godmother to their youngest son, Harry Friday Baker.

Last September, it was announced that Kidman and her country singer husband Keith Urban had ended their 19 year marriage do to their "irreconcilable differences."

Kidman held a number of high profile relationships that were regularly in the public eye.

Tom Burlinson

When she was a teenager, Kidman reportedly dated her co-star Tom Burlinson.

The pair met on the set of the 1986 film, Windrider.

Canadian-born Australian actor Burlinson is best known for The Man from Snowy River.

The pair reportedly went on to date for three years. 

Tom Cruise

It seems like another lifetime ago, but Kidman was famously first married to Tom Cruise.

The former couple first met as co-stars on the set of the 1990 film Days of Thunder.

They tied the knot the same year the movie came out.

During their more than a decade-long marriage, they adopted two children together: daughter Isabella Jane and son Connor Anthony.

But in 2001, they decided to call it quits after 11 years.

Cruise filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences".

"He was huge; still is. To me, he was just Tom, but to everybody else, he is huge," she told Ladies' Home Journal in 2006.

"But he was lovely to me. And I loved him. I still love him."

After their divorce, a now-viral photo emerged that appeared to show Kidman celebrating.

However, in a 2024 interview with British GQ magazine, the actress set the record straight: "That was not me; that was from a film, that wasn't real life. I know that image."

In May 2025, Cruise offered a rare comment about his ex.

Speaking to the Independent, Cruise recalled being the one to recommend Kidman to the late director Stanley Kubrick for their 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut, calling her a "great actress".

Lenny Kravitz

Kidman dated rocker Lenny Kravitz between 2003 and 2004.

Cruise was the one to spill the beans on Kidman's relationship with Kravitz in 2003, confirming their relationship during a TV interview with Larry King on CNN.

Kidman and Kravitz had been rumoured to be engaged before calling it quits in 2004.

Years later, she worked with his daughter Zoë Kravitz on Big Little Lies.

"I hadn't seen her in a long time before Big Little Lies, but there was a point where we were all kind of living together," Zoë told The Edit in 2017 as per People.

"I was about 13, and she would take me to see movies; she was so nice to me."

In another interview with The Edit, Kidman said she already knew her Big Little Lies co-star "because I was engaged to her father," confirming long speculation she had been engaged to the musician in the early noughties.

"It's all in the family! I love Lenny; he's a great guy."

Keith Urban

After almost 20 years of marriage, Kidman filed for divorce from Urban in September 2025. 

Kidman and Urban's love story first began in 2005 when they met at the annual G'Day LA event.

They exchanged numbers. But it had taken Urban four months to call.

"I remember thinking, 'I had such a crush on him, and he wasn't interested in me'," she told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017.

Urban explained in 2018 on Interview he "wasn't in a very healthy place" at the time.

"I'd never have thought she'd see anything in a guy like me," he admitted.

"But at some point I plucked up the courage to call those numbers and she answered, and we started talking and we talked and talked and talked and talked and it was effortless."

A year after they met, Kidman and Urban tied the knot at St. Patrick's Estate in Manly, Sydney, with Urban serenading his new wife with a rendition of his song Making Memories of Us.

Each guest left the event with a Tiffan desk clock engraved with "A Moment in Time, June 2025, 2006, Nicole & Keith", and the next day the couple jetted off to their honeymoon in French Poylnesia.

The couple went through their fair share of battles, including Urban's time in rehab in late 2006 after Kidman staged an intervention for her husband who was struggling with alcohol abuse at the time.

By November, 2007 the couple had moved to Nashville and a few months later they announced that they were expecting their first child together.

Sunday Rose was born on July 7, 2008, and two years later, on December 28, 2010, they welcomed their second daughter Faith Margaret.

From then on, Kidman and Urban have been Australia's golden couple, beloved not only by our country but by people around the world.

So, when reports of a separation were released almost two decades after the couple wed, the world was rightfully shocked.

"Nicole's sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another," a source revealed to People of the alleged split.

"She didn't want this. She has been fighting to save the marriage."

A day after news of their split went public, Kidman officially filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences".

In January the former couple finalised their divorce.

Kidman and Urban have agreed to waive all child and spousal support rights, according to court documents obtained by People.

According to the documents, each person is also responsible for their own legal fees and expenses.

A parenting plan for their daughters has also been put in place, with Kidman's home remaining the primary residence for Sunday and Faith, and the Holland star having custody of the girls for 306 days a year.

The country music star was granted 59 days out of the year, with their daughters allowed to spend every other weekend with him.

Kidman and Urban are both required to "behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced".

"They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent," the agreement states.
