Horror moviesand their remakes are a big part of cinema history, but it's rare that a horror remake manages to outshine and out-scare its predecessor. Because the genre has always been popular, horror films are constantly being remade in order to capitalize on that need to be frightened at the cinema. Sometimes, a horror film is so beloved that a remake is certain to score big at the box office, but some remakes offer a chance to improve upon the perceived failures of films from the past.
