May is the perfect month to get outside and appreciate the world greening up again after the winter season. Depending where you live in the northern hemisphere, you might be well into having your garden and flowers set up or you might finally be getting your hands into the dirt. Even if you’re not someone who keeps a garden or pots of flowers, there is plenty to appreciate in the tree leaves coming back, violets and lilacs stretching open, and longer days.

This is the season where I find myself grabbing a book and reading outside. I love a good hammock, just as much as I like a cup of coffee and an outside seat at a cafe. One thing I know I always need when I’m enjoying a book is a bookmark (even though–close your ears, purists–I’m fine with dog earring my own books).

Inspired by spring blooms and the promises of summer, here are some excellent bookmarks that reflect the season of plants, gardens, and flora.

We want to hear from you! Take our quick survey and share your thoughts.

Choose your favorite herb among three gorgeous metal bookmark choices–chamomile, thyme, or lavender. I love the chamomile especially, but they’re all good. $9.

What I like so much about mushrooms is that they look like the sorts of things you’d encounter in a fantasy world, rather than our real world. Choose your new mushroom bookmark from among four different options here for $8.

It might not yet be tomato season, but this bright bookmark is one of promise, isn’t it? You can choose tomatoes or several other varieties, including lemons, lavender, cherries, and more. $5.50.

How about a garden seed themed bookmark? If that’s not your flavor, maybe the garden tools and accessories bookmark is. $3.50.

Though I’ve tried to keep the bookmark options to outdoor-focused plants and flowers, these metal houseplant bookmarks were too adorable not to include. You get a set of four, and they clip nicely onto your book to hold your page. $13.

How gorgeous is this stained glass inspired tulip bookmark? It’s metal, too, so this one is nice and sturdy. $17+.
