In the May 6 episode of The Young and the Restless, Diane has a heartfelt conversation with Jack. As the couple sat down for breakfast at the Abbott Mansion, Diane spoke about how the remodelling was her idea. She was happy to see Jack satisfied with the new look of the house, and he even apologized for his previous reluctance and doubt about the project. However, his brother Billy was not happy with the renovations.

Seeing Diane visibly upset, Jack asks if Billy has hurt her feelings. Although she initially stayed silent, Diane finally revealed what Billy had said that made her so dismayed. He was passionately against the remodelling and accused Diane of erasing their father’s essence from their home as a result.
