The Young and the Restless‘ Daniel and Tessa might be a couple in the making. However, it is an uphill climb before the pair can truly come together. Now, Michael Graziadei, who plays Daniel, has opened up about what the future holds for Tessa and his character.

Michael Graziadei gave his thoughts on Daniel and Tessa’s growing fondness for each other. Although they haven’t declared their true feelings, Graziadei believes that “Daniel really, really likes Tessa.”

It all began with Tessa offering emotional support to Daniel after the death of his wife, Heather. However, Daniel unexpectedly found himself catching feelings for Tessa. Graziadei related to his character’s situation and told the Soap Opera Digest, “I mean, I know in my own personal life, I’ve always found someone when I haven’t been looking for someone.”

“And the connection that they wound up establishing kind of came out of that. He was dealing with everything that had happened with Heather, and just found this person to confide in. And from that, he eventually realized that this was more than just someone he liked spending a little time talking with about whatever he was having,” Graziadei added.

The actor believes that it is time for Daniel to find happiness again and forge a new relationship. “I mean, it’s been a year, so that’s a long time on a soap opera. You would think he would have moved on already by now!” Graziadei laughed. However, things are not that simple.

What’s holding Daniel back from sharing his feelings for Tessa is the fact that she’s married to Mariah. Also, Graziadei shared that he “appreciated the way that this story has been told and this connection has come about because of the fact that she’s a married woman.”

The actor then went on to gush about his co-star Cait Fairbanks, who plays Tessa. “Cait is fantastic. I think she’s a great actor, and she’s just lovely to be around on set,” he said.

While fans remain optimistic about seeing Daniel and Tessa as a couple, they do not expect smooth sailing ahead. The pair has some hurdles to cross before they can declare their feelings for each other.

On this note, Graziadei concluded, “I don’t know how much I can say, but what I can say is it feels like, with the connection that these two people are having, that the audience is going to be rooting for them to get together.”
