The Young and the Restless witnessed Kyle signing a $5 million contract with Victor to prove himself worthy of Claire.

In their interview with Soap Opera Digest, Hayley Erin and Michael Mealor opened up about Claire’s reaction to the contract. Mealor stated, “I think he still thinks that that decision is something that Claire will see as a kind of romantic gesture, if you will. I think he believes that Claire will see that as a proclamation of his love.” He further added, “That it isn’t a game that he was playing, it was more of, ‘Look, I love this woman so much that I’m willing to do this and willing to sacrifice not only money, but my life in Genoa City with my family. I will give up all that for her.’ And I think he still sees that as a romantic gesture.”

Meanwhile, Erin shared her thoughts, stating, “On the one hand, it is, in theory, very romantic, and it’s a big commitment. It’s a huge act of devotion. But on the other hand, she has asked him about it a few times, and he has continuously deflected.” The 31-year-old continued, “If I’m in a relationship and I expect transparency from my partner, I’m going to be upset if I’m not getting that, even if it’s something that, on the face of it, is a nice idea.”

“Why can’t I be trusted to know what my partner knows? I always think of it like, we’re not really living in the same reality,” Erin further explained. “If you know things that I don’t know, then we’re not on the same page here, and I, at least, can’t make educated decisions if I’m not educated,” she concluded.
