On the Monday, June 9, episode of Young and Restless, teasers indicate that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) has reason to celebrate. In addition, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) is overcome with a sense of déjà vu, and Sharon (Sharon Case) makes Nick (Joshua Morrow) a promise that she can hopefully keep. Mariah (Camryn Grimes, l.) has been shutting her wife out ever since she returned from her business trip. Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) has been urging her spouse to open up and unburden herself, but Mariah seems to think that would only make things worse. Can anyone convince her otherwise?
It seems that whatever Tessa has said or done was enough to upset Mariah and cause her to push her wife even further away. Will Mariah continue keeping her feelings bottled up, even knowing that it could cause the end of her marriage and break their family apart?
Still emotional after her heated conversation with Tessa, Mariah heads to Crimson Lights. But it won't be so easy to avoid her problems.
Daniel (Michael Graziadei) has already offered Tessa a shoulder to lean on during this crisis, and now he's there for Mariah. While it's unlikely he'll be able to convince her to open up to him, perhaps he can persuade her to let Tessa in on what's bothering her?
When Tessa adds herself to the mix, things get tense again, and Mariah persists in trying to protect her wife by keeping her in the dark as much as possible. Unfortunately, that's not helping anyone in this situation. Can Daniel make her see the error of her ways?
With Mariah out of the picture, Tessa can once again confide in Daniel, who has now seen firsthand just how bad things have gotten between the spouses. But does he have any advice that could help?
Mariah has been recalling her business trip where a mystery man (Michael Swan) approached her. How does this stranger factor into the secret she's been keeping since her return and the terrible things she's done in her past? And is he the reason for her déjà vu?
Sharon has been worried about Mariah, who won't even confide in her mother about the things that have been bothering her. Will she bring Nick in on it and share her concerns? And might a shared concern about Mariah bring these two back together?
What might the promise be that Sharon makes to her ex-husband? Could she be vowing to back off and let Mariah deal with her problems herself? If so, that could prove much easier said than done for Sharon.
