Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana has undoubtedly emerged as one of the most talked about and hyped film. As expected, it is shaping up to be an absolute blockbuster. The film had already made headlines for its mind-blowing casting - Yash, Ranbir Kapoor, Sunny Deol, and Sai Pallavi - all have been roped in for this impressive project. Interestingly, Yash isn't just acting. He has also been roped in as the film's co-producer along with Namit Malhotra. As reported by Pinkvilla, Yash will start his shoot this week in Mumbai. Before beginning any new project, Yash follows the ritual of seeking divine blessings at the revered Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.
"After wrapping up a major schedule of Toxic, Yash is all set to shift to the sets of Nitesh Tiwari directorial in Mumbai. He begins his journey on Ramayana by visiting the Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. The visit highlights a cherished practice for the Rocking Star, who commences every new project with a temple visit," a source was quoted as saying by Pinkvilla. As reported by the entertainment portal, Yash will begin filming his solo sequences during the schedule. The makers have also created a special set up to welcome Yash.
"Ramayana is a technological marvel, and the makers are looking to shoot for some of the most visually stunning sequences with Yash on the first schedule. He will be shooting for his chunk from the end of April for almost a month, and then again move on to Toxic," the source further explained. For the unversed, Ramayana is a two part epic. The much-awaited film will release on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027 respectively.
Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana will feature a full-blown showdown between Yash and Ranbir Kapoor- who essay Raavana and Lord Ram respectively. That's not all, Sunny Deol will play the role of Lord Hanuman and is expected to join the shoot in June. The film has been backed by DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations.
Following the massive success of KGF and KGF 2, Yash has a couple of interesting projects - Toxic in March and Ramayana in October - in 2026. Considering the fact that Ramayana will offer an interesting mix of impactful storytelling, advanced technology, and visual grandeur, it will reimagine the legendary tale for viewers the world over.
