It seems we might see the Silent Hill 2 remake on another platform, as an ESRB rating for an Xbox Series X version appeared on October 31, 2025. Like the PS5 and PC versions, it is still rated “Mature” for people ages 17 and up. Konami hasn’t announced a release for that system yet. [Thanks, Gematsu!]
The rating, content descriptors, and rating summary for the Xbox Series X version of Silent Hill 2 is identical to the one used for the ESRB rating for the PS5 and PC releases. There are absolutely no changes. This suggests that should Konami release the game in the near future, it will be absolutely identical to the versions already available since October 2024.
This Silent Hill 2 remake announcement would mean both recent Silent Hill releases would be available on most modern platforms. Silent Hill f launched in September 2025. When it did, it showed up on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. This would leave the Nintendo Switch 2 as the only current generation console to not include any Silent Hill games in its library.
It is unknown how this could affect the other Silent Hill remake Bloober Team is working on. Back in June 2025, Konami announced another title is in development. At the time, only a logo appeared alongside the recurring song “Hometown.”
The Silent Hill 2 remake is available on the PS5 and PC now, and the ESRB rated an Xbox Series X version of the game.
