In 2024, Xander Schauffele finally achieved his dream after years of near misses. He won the first major of his career in the form of the PGA Championship. Schauffele did so by beating the mad scientist, Bryson DeChambeau, in a nail-biting contest. Lifting the Wanamaker Trophy helped the 31-year-old gain confidence to go in for the second major, the Open Championship, later that year. But it also gave him the opportunity to host the prestigious Champions Dinner in 2025.
As the clock ticks down to tee off at Quail Hollow, Schauffele will welcome all the past champions and their families for an exclusive dinner preceding this year’s PGA Championship. Only a few minutes ago, the menu for the same was revealed on X. Golf Digest tweeted, “Xander Schauffele’s PGA Champion’s dinner. ,” with a picture that showed the complete menu Schauffele has decided for his Champions Dinner.
The menu was extensive, with multiple options available for the guests to choose from. The appetizers included Smoked Goat Cheese Dates with pistachio and prosciutto, Pickled Watermelon with feta and jalapeno, Clams Casino Shooters, and Steak and Bleu Cheese Crostini.
For the main, Schauffele has chosen to serve Wagyu NY Strip with blackened jump shrimp, blue cheese gemolata, frizzled onions, whipped sweet potato, and bourbon bone marrow reduction.
Lastly, for dessert, the world no. 3 has gone with Banana Splits, which includes salted vanilla gelato, Luxardo whipped cream, bruleed banana, crushed peanuts, rum sauce, and chocolate-dipped wafer. Alternatively, guests can also choose Strawberry Shortcake with sweet biscuit, vanilla bean whipped cream, Chambord syrup, and fresh strawberries.
As appetizing as that menu sounds, it still seemed as underwhelming for a Champions Dinner as some of Xander Schauffele’s recent performances. Or at least that’s what the internet believes.
Netizens bash Xander Schauffele’s mediocre Champions Dinner spread
Xander Schauffele hasn’t been in great form in 2025. And with a subpar Champions Dinner menu celebrating his first major win, one fan couldn’t help but comment, “This is so weak just like Xander’s game this year.” Seems like the 31-year-old is struggling on the course and at the plate this year.
