Two years ago, tentative curiosity preceded X-Men ‘97’s debut. Critics and fans alike held the original X-Men: The Animated Series in high regard for its thematic maturity and sprawling scope. No one expected, or knew what to expect from, a direct continuation. '97 blew the figurative doors down, immediately solidifying itself as a modern masterpiece as well as one of Marvel's most daring and electrifying projects.
