“I’m a hustler not a damn ball player. LMAO.” Remember how 50 Cent reacted after throwing his first pitch? Oh, those legendary pitches! But this time, it was not a rapper. We experienced a much-awaited MLB-WWE crossover. Bringing fans from the best of both worlds, what was supposed to be a sensational experience turned out to be a trolling ground. Social media got filled with comparisons between two stars following their hilarious first pitches.

WWE star Tiffany Stratton stole the show with her literally wild first pitch at the New York Mets’ game against the Washington Nationals. And to our surprise (or was it?), it also drew a stark comparison from another first pitch back in 2014. Remember the one thrown by 50 Cent? 

On Thursday, the present WWE Women’s World Champion threw the first pitch. And guess what! It was another botched pitch that pushed her name into the list of infamous throws. The comment section of MLB’s X post got flooded, drawing comparisons with 50 Cent. Well, both of them took it a little bit too far. And MLB fans, being MLB fans, couldn’t hold back on their sarcasm!

Donning a Mets City Connect jersey and the championship belt, Tiffany Stratton stepped on the mound, surrounded by cameras and fans cheering for her. The one gaining attention for her signature prettiest moonsault move, pitched the ball just to fly it over the head of the catcher. Probably one of the most unpredictable pitches…

The pitch went well out of the Mets outfielder Jared Young’s reach, but the moment definitely got viral with 2.5m views and counting. That might seem like a surprise for MLB fans, IYKYK! And it was a lot similar to how 50 Cent threw his first pitch than you can imagine – “just a bit outside!”

The US rapper-cum-actor pitched in 2014 before the Mets game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. His body and arm kinda went in different directions. Despite that, his embarrassing but soulful smile might have touched quite a few hearts! 

While we have seen some horrible pitches in baseball, these two might just top the list of first-pitch disasters. First, think about 50 Cent’s stance, and now check Tiffany Stratton’s throw! Quite similar, isn’t it?

Tiffany Stratton’s first pitch was hard to ignore. No doubt, she has that star power. Stratton acts with confidence. Her strong moves and effective footwork definitely make her a favorite. But seeing her pitch, fans couldn’t hold back on the sarcasm. “Tiffany Stratton and 50 Cent, legends at throwing first pitches at Citi Field.” Expected, probably! Back in 2014, his pitch was considered “the worst ceremonial first pitch ever” by Twitter. The ball barely passed Chief Mets photographer, Marc Levine. No one was injured, and the event ended with a LOLs only! But now, we are confused if Stratton’s pitch can win over that of 50 Cent’s. 

Another comment from a fan shifted the focus a bit. “There are a lot of things the Mets can’t handle and one of them is Tiffy Time.” No, can’t deny! Their starter Kodai Senga is out with an injury. Their superstar, Juan Soto, is not in the best of form. And now, Tiffany Stratton’s throw! Just another apple that’s well out of their reach.

Some were left amazed by what they saw. “She can do a moonsault but struggles to throw a ball. Make it make sense.” The fan is talking about the Tiffany Stratton signature move, where she somersaults from the rings over her opponent to end the game. But here in baseball, she missed it by a big quarter. Rather than a full windup, she chose the casual toss, which turned out to be a softball lob. Some even call it an “eephus pitch,” which is used to confuse batters.

Then there were criticisms, too. “You can wrestle; you just can’t throw a good first pitch.” Well, 50 Cent isn’t an athlete, but Stratton is! So, this comment was probably a gasp of disbelief. While Stratton is emerging to be one of the top names in WWE, she kinda failed to show her usual charm at Citi Field. Even though that attracted enough attention. Just to give you a little context, in 2025, she won 11 out of 12 games with a 91.7% win percentage and an 8.3% draw percentage. 

Amid all these, one comment shows how fans are still not ready to accept what happened. One thinks that she “might need more practice.” With a strong arm and good foot movement, if she practices, she may get to sort things out better. And we hope she comes back to the mound to throw a pitch so perfect that it might end up in a strikeout.
