Woman ‘threatened with knife and raped’ in town park as man, 52, arrested

A WOMAN was allegedly threatened with a knife and raped in a town park on Friday afternoon.

Police are currently appealing for witnesses after the woman reported the shocking attack in Kingsnorth Gardens in Folkestone, Kent.

A 52-year-old male suspect was arrested and taken into custody – and was then later charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of cocaine.

He has been bailed in regards to the alleged sexual assault and will appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
