Playing for the Indiana Fever is a tough task, and we’re sure that Odyssey Sims realized that in her very first game. After all, dropping zero while representing the most popular WNBA team is pretty hard to deal with. However, the five-foot-eight guard has come a long way since then, and honestly? She has earned her spot on the team.
And it looks like the front office agrees, as Sims has just been signed to a rest-of-season contract with the Fever. Through seven games with Indiana, she’s averaging about 10 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds a game. Not to mention, her back-to-back 20-point performances have led the Fever to consecutive wins!
However, the WNBA community has raised a few eyebrows at this signing. Not because of Odyssey Sims’ performances, but rather what this means for Caitlin Clark and her return. “The concept of seeing an odyssey sims and caitlin clark backcourt,” A fan tweeted alongside a video of Shaq laughing. The thing is, both players occupy the same position on the court, so a rest-of-season contract could spell trouble for CC’s potential return. However, Indiana fans were overjoyed about this signing too! “Odyssey Sims deserves this full-season contract. She’s been an amazing asset for the Fever.”
