Sofia Vergara herself gave information about this through her Instagram post. She revealed that she suddenly had a severe eye allergy, due to which she had to go to the hospital in an emergency. She shared some pictures of her eye, in which she is seen washing her eye and lying on the hospital bed. In one photo, her eye was swollen. Sophia wrote, "Didn't make it to the Emmys but did make it to the emergency room. Sorry I had to cancel last minute. This allergy started before I could even get in the car!"
Which actor/actress missed Emmys 2025?
Sophia wasn't the only one who missed the Emmys 2025. The Bear star Jeremy Allen White also couldn't make it to the ceremony as he was attending his best friend's wedding. The Last of Us actress Bella Ramsey, who was nominated for Lead Actress in a Drama Series, also couldn't make it to the event. In Sophia's place, Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow came on stage and presented the award for Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, which went to Stephen Graham for his excellent performance in the Netflix film Adolescence.
