The Kansas City Chiefs surprised fans and analysts alike on Saturday by adding star defensive tackle Chris Jones to the injury report just ahead of their Week 4 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The designation? “Non-injury related – personal.”

The team made the announcement on X, stating, ”We are adding DT Chris Jones to the injury report (non-injury related – personal). He has no game status designation.” The Chiefs did not provide any further details, and while Jones remains eligible to play, his status for the game is uncertain.

The 31-year-old DT, a six-time All-Pro and cornerstone of Kansas City’s defense, has been a steady contributor through the first three games of the season. He has logged five tackles, one sack, and three tackles for loss while playing 163 snaps, more than 80% of the team’s defensive plays. Until now, he had not appeared on the injury report.

The timing of the update raises questions, especially with the Chiefs preparing to face one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses. While the team has opted to keep the matter private, the absence of clarity has fueled speculation about Jones’ status and potential impact on Sunday’s game.

More updates are coming soon…
