Steffy recently learned from Liam that he was suffering from an inoperable brain tumor. It was revealed that he had kept his diagnosis a secret from many people, including his ex-wife Hope. In response, Steffy insisted that Hope be informed of Liam’s condition, noting how the two have been through a lot together. Besides Steffy, the only other person aware of Liam’s condition is Finn.

While Steffy was emotionally affected by Liam’s condition, he did not dwell on it. Liam instead chose to remain calm and spend the time he had left with Steffy and their daughter. Surprisingly, Liam also moved in with Steffy and Finn.

Hope eventually became suspicious about Liam moving in with Steffy and Finn and later pressed him for details. Unwilling to tell the truth, Liam lied that the move stemmed from plumbing problems at his residence.
