However, ‘Meatball’ came out of the closet more than six years ago and opened up about her dating Ellis Clark back in 2022. The 34-year-old got the courage to finally open up, as she found comfort in the MMA community—especially considering two former women’s champions Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington are openly gay. In her post announcing her engagement, Molly McCann tagged her fiancé—something uncanny, since ‘Meatball’ hardly tagged anyone in any of her posts.

To add to her misery, McCann claimed that her relationship had been the focus of a particular television show after she decided to call off her engagement with Ellis Clark. These developments really took a toll on McCann, as a result.

“We lost [a] family member, she was young. I called off me engagement and then the TV show come out and then it’s all about my relationship on that, I’m just like ‘for f***’s sake’ Like, I’ve got to see it all the time to now, but done the right thing for both parties and the right thing for my career,” Molly McCann told Fighters Only magazine. Nevertheless, she seems to be in a better place now than she was before.
