A new face arrives in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, as Ross Barton (Michael Parr) makes contact with his long-lost brother.

The storyline began earlier this week, when Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) received a letter addressed to the family of Emma Barton.

Moira read it and revealed to Ross that he has another sibling, but he has been hesitant about actually contacting him.

Ahead of his arrival, here’s everything you need to know about Lewis Barton, including his introductory scenes, and the star who plays him.

Who is Lewis Barton?

Lewis is Ross’ brother. They share the same mum, but not the same dad. It’s believed that Lewis was conceived at the time Emma was living away from her family and the village, and then put up for adoption.

Because Lewis has lived his life away from the Bartons, he doesn’t know a single thing about them, which is why he sent the letter to Moira.

After initially refusing to meet him, Ross will make contact with Lewis and gets talking to him on a forest walk. Unfortunately though, due to the fact Lewis doesn’t know anything about Emma and her crimes, Ross is forced to lie about her.

Heartstopper and Celebrity Big Brother star Bradley Riches will play Lewis, who is also the show’s first autistic character.

Despite the fact Lewis and Ross’ meeting ends quite badly tonight, we will see him again, as Ross learns in a few days time that his new sibling is growing cannabis.

When announcing his casting in the long-running ITV soap, Bradley’s statement read: ‘I’m beyond excited to be joining Emmerdale! It’s a real bucket list moment for me, especially since it was my grandad’s favourite soap. I just know he’d be over the moon.

‘Everyone has been so lovely and welcoming, and the village is even more amazing in real life. I absolutely love my character (though I can’t spill too much just yet!), and I’m just so grateful for this opportunity.

‘I can’t wait for everyone to see what’s in store…’
