The production team began principal photography in May 2023. They filmed across 35 real-world locations and built 25 virtual sets. According to Tudum by Netflix, the crew used large digital screens to simulate snowfall and adjust environmental conditions in real-time.

Visual effects supervisors Ignacio Pol and Pablo Accame confirmed that these techniques helped actors engage with realistic on-set environments. “The virtual production technique and the use of screens, which allows the actors to see what’s happening and greatly improves the lighting on set, were crucial,” Pol said (via Soaps Central.)

Cacodelphia Studios handled the virtual production for both indoor and selected outdoor scenes. The team added the actual snow effects in post-production, a process that took over a year. On set, they used cellulose-based fake snow to help actors perform more authentically.

The production team selected Avenida General Paz to portray apocalyptic isolation. They filmed in locations like Campo de Mayo and Torre Dorrego to emphasize historical and architectural elements. Filming in public and iconic areas required extensive logistical planning and led to temporary street and neighborhood closures.
