This aquarium, which used to be a safe haven for her and her former partner Owen, has become a kind of base for her. It’s a quiet, secluded location away from the WLF-Seraphite fight that has taken over the rest of Seattle. In the game, Owen transforms it into a personal refuge after defecting from the WLF, and Abby often returns there as her story goes further.

How did Ellie get that information? In Episode 5, she cornered Nora, one of Abby’s former allies, inside a fungal-infested hospital. Although The Last of Us Season 2 hasn’t explicitly shown Nora giving up where Abby is yet, the game reveals that she does, under duress. Nora tells Ellie that Abby is headed to the aquarium. Interestingly, Abby had spoken to Nora in that very same hospital just hours before Ellie arrived, where Abby had arrived while looking for medicines for Yara. The timing makes it all the more intense, with the two people nearly crossing paths without even realizing it.

Now that Ellie would likely come to know about her location, The Last of Us is set for a revenge-filled second half of the season.
