Mishael Morgan’s Amanda Sinclair, who was last seen in The Young and the Restless between 2019 and 2024, was recently confirmed to be returning to the soap opera in May 2025. Morgan also recently opened up about her return in a recent interview. As such, fans started having questions concerning Sinclair’s return and what her current story arc would be like. During the 2019–2024 period, Morgan was briefly replaced in the role of Sinclair by Karla Mosey.

Mishael Morgan’s Amanda Sinclair is returning to The Young and the Restless on May 16, 2025.

Sinclair confirmed and opened up about her return in a recent TV Insider interview. Here, she shared that she did not know much about Amanda’s role in the current storyline, beyond the producers expressing their eagerness to bring the character back to Genoa City.

“‘There’s a great storyline that we want her to be a part of,'” Morgan recalled the creators’ comments. “I just finished my Hallmark movies [the Hearts Around the Table series], so I was like, ‘I think this might be the perfect time to get back to L.A. and get away from all of the horrible weather in Toronto. Let’s do it!’”

Morgan then teased that Sinclair could be representing a “mysterious” and “high-powered” client following her return.

Sinclair debuted on the soap opera in 2019, where she was revealed to be the twin of Hilary Curtis (also played by Morgan). Her services as an attorney were hired by Chance Chancellor when he entered into a conflict with his grandmother, Katherine, over the latter’s will.

Sinclair decided to stay in Genoa City after the case was solved. As a result, she began interacting with Young and Restless mainstays like Phyllis Summers and Elena Dawson.

She also sparked a romance with Devon Winters, which unfortunately ended after the latter cheated on her with Abby Newman. The collapse of Sinclair and Devon’s relationship was a major factor in the former’s decision to eventually leave Genoa City.

The mystery surrounding Sinclair’s return is intriguing. However, it remains to be seen how her dynamics with characters like Devon, Phyllis, and Lily would have changed.
