The 2025 Emmy Awards brought a series of exciting twists and turns, including multiple records broken during this year’s ceremony. With a wide range of shows competing for television’s biggest honor, three in particular set records that will be difficult to match in the coming years.
List of all the records broken at the 2025 Emmy Awards
Here are the three big records from the 2025 Emmy Awards:
The Studio’s record-breaking run
It would be wrong to say that viewers and critics did not expect The Studio to perform well at the Emmys this year. But the level of success the series achieved was beyond what anyone imagined. With a total of 13 awards, the Apple TV+ show broke the record for most Primetime Emmys won by a comedy series in a single year.
This also makes it one of the most successful shows in a debut season.
Owen Cooper becomes the youngest actor to win an Emmy
Another show that entered with high expectations and delivered on them, Adolescence won several awards across categories. The most notable was the victory for 15-year-old Owen Cooper, who made history by becoming the youngest male actor to win an Emmy.
Cooper picked up the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series. This is a record that will be difficult to surpass.
Tramell Tillman makes an interesting piece of history
Like Owen Cooper, Severance star Tramell Tillman also left his mark on Emmy history. Tillman became the first Black person and the first openly gay person to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
These were three of the most significant moments at this year’s Emmy Awards. Much more happened throughout the ceremony. Here’s a look at the full highlights.
