The Found Season 2 finale has finally aired, bringing to a close an exciting journey of compelling character arcs and emotional stakes. The latest and final installment also featured some intriguing and shocking moments. Thus, fans have become curious about all the events that took place in the installment and have started wondering about the fates of certain characters, most notably Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s Hugh ‘Sir’ Evans.

It’s unclear if Sir dies in Found Season 2’s ending. However, he ends up getting badly injured.

In the Season 2 finale, now also the series finale, Gabi held a press conference where she announced her plans to negotiate with Sir’s sister Lena. Upon seeing this via his contraband cell phone, Sir suffered a near mental breakdown.

Detective Trent, aka “Heavy Boots,” later gets called to the station, where he finds Sir bleeding from a head injury. However, it’s unclear as to who or what injured Sir or whether he survived the assault against him.

Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll shared in a recent Screenrant interview prior to the show’s abrupt cancellation that Sir is not “definitively dead.”

Carroll then explained that the canceled Season 3 would explore the mystery of who had given Sir the head injury.

“And as is the case with everything Sir and Gabi related, nothing is quite as it seems,” Carroll added. “No path is a direct one as we get to the answer of what actually happened to Sir.”

Thanks to Found’s cancellation at NBC, fans will never find out what ultimately happens to Sir. That is, unless the series is shopped to another platform and the story picks up from where it left off, after said platform revives the series. The series’ lead studio, Warner Bros. Television, is reportedly shopping the series to other platforms.

Found star Shanola Hampton hinted in a US Weekly interview that Sir was likely alive. She scoffed at the notion that Sir would abandon his kidnapping ways. She also acknowledged the possibility that he could kidnap Gabi again, like he did many times before. Hampton said, “It’s going to be interesting now that we’ve seen that Sir is working with the FBI. There is one thing that we all know about Gabi and that is that there is nothing more important to her than finding missing people and doing it quickly.”
