Mike Peters passes away at 66, claims report
Mike Peters died on April 29, 2025, due to blood cancer. He was 66 years old. Per The Guardian, he was receiving treatment at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, England. He is survived by Jules, his wife, and their two sons, Dylan and Evan.
Peters had been dealing with the disease since the ’90s. His doctors first diagnosed him with lymphoma in 1995. Although he recovered a year later and resumed his career as a musician, he was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) in 2005. He went into remission by the time the 2006 documentary Mike Peters on the Road came out.
In September 2022, Peters disclosed that his CLL had relapsed and that he was receiving treatment again. It was reported two years later that he was in remission (via BBC). However, in early December 2024, he revealed that he had been receiving chemotherapy to “attain a complete remission in order to have a Stem Cell Transplant from an unrelated matched donor.” By January 2025, he had reportedly undergone CAR-T Therapy.
A native of Prestatyn, Wales, Peters became active as a musician in the ’70s. As a member of The Alarm, he released five studio albums: Declaration (1984), Strength (1985), Eye of the Hurricane (1987), Change (1989), and Raw (1991).
