While preparing for her return as host of the 2025 American Music Awards, Jennifer Lopez sustained a face injury that she recently shared with her followers on Instagram. On Tuesday, May 13, Lopez posted a series of Instagram Stories revealing the details of the incident, which occurred during rehearsals for the upcoming awards show.

In one image, she is seen holding an ice pack to her face, with the caption, “So…this happened.” Another photo showed a visible cut across the bridge of her nose, along with noticeable swelling and bruising near her right eye and cheek. The caption clarified that the injury took place “(During @amas rehearsals).” (via US Magazine)

A third Instagram Story provided an update on her recovery. Lopez shared a photo with Beverly Hills-based facial plastic surgeon Dr. Diamond, who treated the injury. She added in the caption, “Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond. A week later and a whole lotta ice, I’m good as new.” In her final update, Lopez appeared to be fully healed, with no visible signs of the recent accident.

Despite the setback, Lopez remains on track to host the AMAs on May 26 at the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas. The event will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET.
