The Celtics went into their matchup against the Nets on Saturday evening with a few key players sitting out, managing rest on the second night of a back-to-back after their win over the Heat. Heading into Saturday’s game against the Nets, the Celtics weren’t sure if both of their stars would be available. Jaylen Brown, dealing with a knee issue, was questionable after missing Friday’s win in Miami.

Well, Brown did play but not for long. The 4x All-Star’s night took an unfortunate turn against the Nets as he left the game with back spasms. The Celtics later listed him as doubtful to return, which isn’t the update fans hoped for. His exit came midway through the third quarter when Payton Pritchard stepped in at the 6:12 mark.

If he’s done for the night, the reigning Finals MVP will wrap things up with eight points on 3-of-8 shooting, along with six boards, three dimes, two blocks, and a steal in 24 minutes. Not exactly how Boston wanted this one to play out.
