What Happened to Brendan in MobLand Episode 7?

MobLand Episode 7 unveiled the shocking fate of Brendan and how his mother Maeve’s “calculated risk” ultimately did a boomerang for the Harrigan family. Does Brendan die in MobLand Episode 7?

In MobLand episode 7, Brendan Harrigan dies a brutal death at the orders of Jaime Lopez, the Mexican cartel leader who is close with Richie Stevenson.

From the previous episode, viewers knew that it was Maeve who leaked the current whereabouts of Brendan and Seraphina to Richie. The latest episode revealed that Maeve’s “Queen’s Gambit” move has failed.

Richie Stevenson is not afraid to wage a war against the Harrigans. So, instead of freeing Brendan and only capturing Seraphina like how Maeve wanted, Richie ordered Jaime to kill both the Harrigans in a livestream.

He invited Conrad, Maeve, and Kevin Harrigan to watch the livestream where the two kids of the Irish gang leader will be “sawed to death.” True to their original plan, Jaime’s men started sawing Brendan in front of the camera.

But while Lopez was executing Stevenson’s orders, the main fixer of the Harrigan family was pulling high-profile strings. It is truly through Harry’s network of people that Lopez stopped the massacre midway. While Brendan seemed to be dead, Seraphina got saved.

Why Jaime did not kill Seraphina in MobLand Episode 7

There is only one person who can actually save the self-sabotaging Harrigan family, and it is Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy). He pulled in a big favor at the last minute to save Seraphina. The scene finally introduced the elusive character, Kat McAllister, who can stop a chainsaw murder while sitting in a private airplane.

Harry called Kat and asked if she could do a “pretty f—— huge” favor for him. Following Harry’s insistence, Kat directly called Jaime to stop the murders. Unfortunately for Harry, the call came a minute too late.

Meanwhile, Conrad remains clueless about Maeve’s betrayal. He doesn’t know she leaked Brendan’s Antwerp location to Richie. So viewers speculate that even the best of Harry’s efforts can not shield him from the coming storm.

There is an inevitable tension building between Conrad and Harry. Their brewing conflict, aided by Maeve’s lie, will threaten to erupt in the upcoming episodes. The internal war between the Harrigan family household could destroy their legacy forever. The foundation crumbles as secrets fester beneath the surface.
