If anyone has earned the tag of “underrated” it’s Allisha Gray.  The Dream star had only her third All-Star call-up this season and is leading this side like a woman on a mission. Gray is averaging a team-high 18.1 points along with 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals. Now she has officially surpassed one of the franchise’s legends. Gray went past Angel McCoughtry’s mark of 716 points in the first half to become the Dream’s all-time single-season scoring leader. However, her triumph was short-lived as fate swiftly dealt her a cruel blow.

With Dallas on the attack, Paige Bueckers made a backdoor pass to a cutting Diamond Miller, who had Gray guarding her. Not allowing an inch, the Dream guard forced a tough shot off Miller, which missed the mark. As the ball was coming off the rim, Rhyne Howard tried to help Gray out, but might have nudged the Wings forward as her knee rammed into Gray very close to her eyes.

Gray stayed flat on the ground as the medical team rushed to the scene. The Dream sensation walked off with the packed Gateway Center chanting “MVP, MVP”. Fortunately for the Dream, in a game where they needed Gray the most, she did not stay out for long. According to the reports, she seemed okay and started the second half.
