Justin Bieber has publicly welcomed Chris Brown back to the United States following Brown’s recent release on bail after being arrested in London. The Canadian singer’s comment stirred talks online, especially considering his long-standing support for Brown amid the latter’s controversial history.

What did Justin Bieber say about Chris Brown’s release?

After Chris Brown posted an Instagram photo on May 22 showing him stepping off a private jet, fans flooded the post with reactions. Among them was Justin Bieber, who simply commented, “Welcome home.” The brief message quickly gained traction, racking up over 15,000 likes, signaling a mix of fan support and curiosity.

Brown was arrested on May 15 in connection with a 2023 incident at a London nightclub. He was charged with grievous bodily harm against producer Abe Diaw, who later filed a lawsuit citing severe physical and emotional injuries, including alleged permanent damage.

Although initially denied bail, Brown was later released on a $6.7 million bond, with strict conditions, including a ban on contacting his accuser or returning to the scene of the incident, among other things.

Bieber and Brown share more than a casual acquaintance. They’ve collaborated musically and are widely known for 2011’s “Next to You” and again for the 2019 track “Don’t Check on Me.” Bieber has never shied away from expressing admiration for Brown.

Back in 2019, Bieber defended Brown in an Instagram post, suggesting the R&B star was a blend of Michael Jackson and Tupac Shakur and urging fans to look beyond the singer’s legal troubles.

“You will miss what you had in front of you the whole time,” he wrote. Bieber also acknowledged Brown’s assault case involving Rihanna, describing it as “a mistake,” while insisting on the value of Brown’s artistic contributions.

Despite recent legal issues, Brown is expected to proceed with his Breezy Bowl tour, which kicks off in Amsterdam on June 8. The tour marks two decades of his career, and Bieber’s public support may play a role in shaping fan perception as Brown attempts a professional comeback.
