Hunter Doohan plays Tyler Galpin in Netflix’s Wednesday, opposite Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams. Initially, Tyler was Wednesday’s romantic interest, but later turned out to be a threat to her.

Doohan missed the Wednesday Season 2 premiere in London in July. After noticing his absence, rumors began that his husband, Fielder Jewett, did not allow him to attend the event because he was jealous of Jenna Ortega. While on the podcast, I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario, the actor took the opportunity to address these rumors and his frustration with them.

Doohan revealed that he has “been struggling with how much” of himself he wishes to share publicly. He then addressed the rumors. “I saw one where Jenna didn’t allow me to go, which is so not true,” the actor clarified. “There was a rumor that my husband didn’t let me go because he is jealous of Jenna. I was like, ‘You guys. Can we be so f—— for real right now?’”

He also shared why he wasn’t at the premiere. “I got to go to Sydney for that event for part 2, but I couldn’t go to the London premiere. I was here [in New Zealand] shooting [a movie] and I even posted it where I was like, ‘Oh, I wish I could be there,” Doohan shared.

Despite the rumors about his personal life and co-stars, the actor shared that everything was not bad.

“The Wednesday fans, every interaction I’ve had with them in real life has been so great. And online is mostly positive,” he shared. “But, it’s not the fans of the show — there’s honestly been these weird videos on TikTok that have spread rumors about me and Jenna and Emma [Myers] and other cast members’ personal lives are just so not true,” he added.
