General Hospital will re-air its Wednesday episode, which was originally preempted due to urgent news coverage. The episode was postponed because the network reported on the breaking news of conservative advocate Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Thus, the latest episode of the soap opera will be broadcast again.

General Hospital will air again on Thursday morning

ABC has confirmed that the episode of General Hospital that aired on Wednesday, September 10, will be re-aired on Thursday.

Nathan Varni, the Executive Director of Drama Programming at ABC and Hulu, has recently announced that the episode will become available for free on the show’s official website. Fans can catch the missed episode without a TV carrier. Additionally, the episode will also be aired overnight on eight ABC affiliates, which include five ABC Owned Television Stations.

ABC preempted Wednesday’s episode of General Hospital to broadcast an ABC News Special Report covering the death of Charlie Kirk. The notable conservative activist and CEO of the non-profit organization Turning Point USA was fatally shot on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

President Donald Trump was the first to publicly announce his death, followed by an official statement from Turning Point USA. “It is with a heavy heart that we confirm that Charles James Kirk has been murdered by a gunshot that took place during Turning Point USA’s ‘The American Comeback Tour’ campus event,” the statement read.

Celebrities and political figures have since poured in their condolences across social media, mourning Kirk’s untimely death. Meanwhile, the shooter remains at large at the time of writing, as the manhunt continues.
