Noah Wyle, leading star of Max’s first original medical drama, The Pitt, has finally peeled back the curtain on one of the show’s more unique choices. The Pitt has been praised by both critics and fans are being a distinctly authentic medical drama that pays homage to healthcare workers by telling stories more versed in realism and less in dramatized romances. One thing that fans have noticed is that music is eerily absent from the series, as there’s no original soundtrack playing over the events at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Wyle recently sat down for an interview with NPR’s Fresh Air, and he spoke about what led the team to decide on this, citing that it removes the artificial element while bringing the audience closer to the characters:
