One element of Grand Admiral Thrawn's story from Star Wars Legends is not going to become canon for several reasons. As a character, Thrawn is an interesting part of the Star Wars timeline. In canon, Thrawn has existed in two periods: the Galactic Civil War and the New Republic timeline. What makes him so interesting, though, is just how much story there was for the character in Star Wars' Legends universe, primarily crafted by Timothy Zahn.
