We Have This Iconic Villain To Thank for the Biggest Plot Hole of the Terminator Franchise

James Cameron instantly became one of Hollywood's biggest filmmakers in 1984 with just his second film, The Terminator. Its success made Arnold Schwarzenegger one of the most famous people on the planet and gave Cameron the ability to do whatever he wanted next. He did just that, creating another classic with 1986's Aliens, but he returned to the world that made it all possible in 1991 with Terminator 2: Judgment Day. This time Arnold's T-800 goes from being the bad guy to the good guy, leading to Robert Patrick's T-1000 portraying the villain. Patrick's Terminator is much different from what we've seen before, as it's made entirely of liquid metal, and while this makes for a terrifying character, it also created an interesting plot hole because, according to what was established in the first movie, the T-1000 should have never been able to travel through time.
