The year dawned with a brand new medical procedural, Watson, on CBS, which chronicled events following characters from an already famous story. The CBS and Morris Chestnut-led project was a fun, contemporary spin on the legendary detective stories of Sherlock Holmes, even as Chestnut's Watson came to terms with the passing of the famous detective and best friend. Based on stories first brought to life by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in his books about Holmes, Watson Season 1 relied on one of Holmes' greatest adversaries, James Moriarty (Randall Park), to be the antagonist this season. After 13 episodes, the show would kill off Park’s Moriarty in the season finale, paving the way for a new challenge for Watson in the second season.
